Validation - a basic human need?
by Fernando ina friend taught me that this is a very important part of interacting with others.
in her sales activities for example she makes it a point to listen carefully, indicate where she understands and agrees, make notes, and openly staple the person's business card to her notes.. should we be seeking to validate others in our lives and on jwn as having an inalienable right to exist, have an opinion even if different from ours, and to freely express that opinion, and to be heard, and to be understood?.
i'd love to read your thoughts and opinions, especially if you are a member of the seemingly large and usually silent audience on jwn..

It was only last year we had that quoted. I've searched in vain. I thought I'd bookmarked it but guess not. I have two friends studying and this would put the nail in the coffin I think. Remember how it said that if you do not "accept the full scope of revealed truth" you could be expelled? This is my paraphrase. Can someone help a guy out here? THanks to all in advance.

That drawing makes Kafka look as if he has thyroid problems! The Hunger Artist is a haunting tale. In The Penal Colony was equally disturbing. You know how these insurance adjusters are.

No one I know gives a poop what I believe about God. It's quite refreshing.

Faith without works is dead?
by jemba inmy crazy brainwashed parents have devoted their lives to this cult, to the detriment of their children.
i recently told my mum that i needed to stop anything jw because of the anxiety and depression it has caused me for over 30 years.
she said 'oh well if thats what you have to do... but you know armaggedon is just around the corner and jehovah expects us to toe the line... faith without works is dead.'.

This is proof that we are merely a construct of our electrochemical brain. What ever circuits fire make us what we are. Free will? Nope. We are hardwired and its most apparent when all the wires fray and cognitive abilities are impared. This music simply triggered an aspect of his brain that was still able to fire. He's no more there because of it than before. Yes he's more animated but its stimulus and response. Sorry to rain on your parade but we all deteriorate in time. At least it is a pleasant stimulation for him.

With all the bethel closures where are they going to find replacement GBs or writers etc ?
by mP inanother post gives the stats that about 20 bethels have closed over the last 2 years.
lets assume that this continues at half the rate in another 10 years there will be few or a dozen bethels left.
if theres no bethel in spain, portugal, france, italy and they all go thru germany what chance does that give jws in those lands to ever get a chance at the big bethel in germany ?

I'm sure some will be retained and since the magazines have become mere tracts they can have the translators remain in their country and use this new thing called e-mail. Amazing the things they can do today.
